The Reverend Masaya Hibino (Pastor Mas), who currently serves as the Interim Pastor of the English and the Japanese congregations of Union Church of Los Angeles, comes with great wealth of experience and deep love for Christs church.
Pastor Mas is a graduate of Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia, and Princeton Theological Seminary in Princeton, New Jersey (Th.M.).
Even before graduating from seminary, he was asked to pastor churches in South Carolina and in Georgia.

And in 1959, he was ordained
by Knoxville Presbytery (Presbyterian Church, U.S.) as the Minister of Word and Sacrament. After graduating from Princeton, he came to the
West Coast to serve as pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church of Hollywood, Los Angeles, from 1962 to 1966, and then at Church of Christ, Presbyterian, in Chicago, from 1966 to 1990. His last service as the Senior Pastor was from 1990 through 2001, at Wintersburg
Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana, California, where he currently holds the status of Pastor Emeritus.
Even though he is considered retired, he never stops working for the Lord. Before coming to Union Church of Los Angeles in January 2006, he served as the Interim Pastor at South Bay Church from 2001 to 2005.
Pastor Mas and his wife, Mieko, currently reside at Monte Vista Grove
Homes, a Presbyterian retired community in Pasadena. They have four grown children three daughters and one son, who reside in various locations and are all successful in their respective careers.
